Ricky received his initial dance training in Miami, Florida and was a graduate of Miami’s Coral Reef Senior High Magnet Dance Program. He attended the University of South Florida on academic and talent scholarships and graduated Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance Performance. While in college, he was an apprentice at Ann Reinking’s Broadway Theatre Project for two consecutive summers. While living in Chicago Ricky danced for four seasons with River North Dance Chicago and has also danced with Elements Contemporary Ballet. Ricky is also a remarkable teacher and choreographer. Among the many teams and schools he has worked with are Coral Reef High School, Chicago Academy for the Arts, Roosevelt University, Jacksonville University Dance Department, The University of Wisconsin, FSU, GSU, and OU.

Ricky is a guest teacher throughout the United States, teaches at Visceral Dance Chicago, and is the Contemporary and Jazz Director of the Academy of Dance Arts in Downers Grove. He is a guest teacher for Chicago based companies Danceworks Chicago, Thodos Dance Chicago and River North. He is also on faculty for VIP Dance, teaching workshops and judging their national conventions. In 2013, he was chosen as the Emerging Choreographer of the Year by Houston Metropolitan Dance Company where he set an original work. Ricky was recently voted in the Top 5 of Chicago’s leading dance teachers. Although based in the midwest, Ricky is always thrilled to come home to Miami and share his experience and passion for dance with all the amazing talent at Focal Point Dance Studios.
